"Target serves guests at nearly 2,000 stores and at Target.com, with the purpose of helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. Target led the retail industry by announcing in 2017 that it would raise its starting wage to $15 per hour, hitting the milestone two years ago. Building on this momentum, this year Target set a new starting wage range of $15 to $24/hour across the country and expanded access to health care benefits for more team members and their families – an investment of up to $300 million more in its team this year. It also has launched an industry-leading debt-free education assistance program, with access to 40 schools and 250+ business-aligned programs. Target has also increased promotions for people of color by 62%, increased promotions of women to senior leadership positions by 16% and reduced turnover among people of color by more than 33%. These results are delivered as a result of Target’s success fostering a purpose-driven culture to care, grow and win together.
