Employee engagement is not just about making millennials happy, despite all the hype on the topic. Instead, true engagement means creating a collaborative workplace where all employees are heard and given what they need to thrive.
In this presentation, author and millennial workplace expert Adam Smiley Poswolsky, with Joanna Miller, Learning and Development Lead at Asana, the fastest-growing Work Management platform for teams, shared how HR leaders can build a purpose-driven culture that engages all of your employees.
Smiley shared common stereotypes about millennial employees as well as discussed the similarities and differences between Gen-Zers and Millennials, and Gen-Xers and Baby Boomers. Joanna told the story of how Asana—a 2018 Top 5 Best Place to Work two years in a row and the #1 Best Workplace in Technology—built one of the most attractive workplace cultures in the industry. As well as how Asana’s ""Roadmap Week"" program allows employees to have an inclusive way to co-create and co-contribute to each other’s visions and objectives each quarter. She additionally highlighted lessons from a recent Asana initiative on diversity and inclusion for all, and how Asana learned to best incorporate the needs of different generations across company culture programs.
